The tour in detail

The tour will be divided into two main phases: we will start with a night in Karatu to break up the journey and dedicated to exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, followed by 5 nights in Ndutu during the January birthing season and then return to NgoroNgoro again, this time sleeping right on top of the crater to conclude the journey in an enchanting location. Here you will be able to witness the rebirth of life in the grasslands, with prey and predators in a verdant landscape. On the way back from Ndutu, we will stop again in the Ngorongoro area to conclude the journey. The last night will be near the Kilimanjaro airport, allowing you to live the safari experience to the last and prepare for the return, with shuttles available to the airport based on your flight.
To make the most of this tour, we will be using jeeps specially equipped for photographers. These vehicles have been modified by removing the windows, reducing 4 of the 6 seats, and providing a soft cover for the entire cabin. These modifications allow for an opening of approximately 2.5 meters on the sides, providing extraordinary freedom of movement. The absence of seats allows for comfortable photography in any situation, ensuring sufficient space for each photographer. Each vehicle will be used by only three photographers, thus ensuring ample space to tackle any photographic situation with comfort.
In Karatu and Ndutu we will sleep in authentic “safari tents”, tents that hide a true African style set-up. Inside you will find comfortable beds, a private bathroom and hot water, offering you the perfect mix of relaxation and authentic African adventure. We will then have the last night at the end of the safari in the Ngorongoro Crater inside a lodge! The tour will then end with a relaxing last night in Arusha. This final stop will give us a moment of rest and reflection after a series of intense and exciting experiences. This strategic accommodation will also give you the flexibility to choose from a wide range of flight options for your return, ensuring a stress-free departure and maximum convenience to end your trip in a relaxed way. Whether you want to immerse yourself in the local culture, taste the delicious Tanzanian cuisine or simply enjoy a moment of tranquility before returning home, your last night in Arusha will be a perfect end to this unforgettable trip to Tanzania.

Day by day program

Find out how the days will unfold and what activities make up the tour

Day 1

Arrival at Kilimangiaro Airport by 10.00 AM, private transfer of about 3.30h to our first lodge, at the gates of Ngorongoro. Here we will have a relaxing afternoon to rest after the journey and prepare ourselves for the intense days to come.

Day 2

Wake up before dawn, breakfast and departure for the Ngorongoro Crater. We will enter the crater as early as possible to optimize the chances of sighting. Packed lunch and at about 3:00 pm we will leave the crater to move towards the most important part of this tour, the Ndutu plains. The journey will be about 3 hours during which we could already admire endless herds of wildebeest and zebras in motion and with a bit of luck the first cheetahs and hyenas! They will then welcome us from our new camp immersed in the savannah! Here we will spend 5 unforgettable nights. Accommodation in tents, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3-4-5-6

The program will remain the same for the next few days, with breakfast served before dawn at 5.30am and departure set for 6am. We will have a picnic lunch with us and will use every minute of daylight for game viewing and photography. During these days, we will focus mainly on births and predators, looking for lion, leopard, hyena, cheetah, caracal, serval, as well as all the classic herbivores such as wildebeest, zebra, eland, impala, Thompson's gazelle, dik-dik and many more. Birdlife will be equally fascinating, with the possibility of spotting serpentarius, ostrich, European roller, lilac-breasted roller, weaver, greater and lesser flamingo, and numerous birds of prey on every game drive. The full day game drives will certainly be challenging, but the vehicles at our disposal will allow us to maintain comfortable positions and rest throughout the day. There will be regular breaks throughout the day, where we will get off the jeep in safe areas with our guides to stretch our legs and have meals. Spending a lot of time in the field will certainly be essential to get incredible sightings.

Day 7

We will wake up again before dawn, following the usual routine, for the last morning safari experience in the Ndutu area. We will spend the morning exploring the birth area again, gradually moving towards the Serengeti region. During the safari activities, we will start our journey towards the NgoroNgoro Crater, with the intention of concluding this extraordinary adventure. In the afternoon we will arrive at the new and charming lodge located on the top of the crater. Here we will have the opportunity to rest and admire the extraordinary panorama for our last night in the wild heart of Tanzania.

Day 8

We will get up early for breakfast and leave at first light for a final and spectacular descent into the Ngorongoro Crater. We will enter the magic of this place at first light, perhaps wrapped in a light mist, for an unforgettable full day safari. We will explore the best areas of the Ngorongoro in search of memorable scenery, thus completing our experience in beauty. We will take our classic lunch break and continue the activities in the early afternoon. We will leave the crater around 4:00 pm, then heading very calmly towards Arusha and then Kilimanjaro Airport. For the night, we will have the pleasure of staying in a 4-star hotel a few minutes from the airport, where we can rest and share a last relaxing evening together.

Day 9

We have come to the end of this unforgettable experience. We will have a last breakfast together and close the bags. Transfers can leave from the hotel at any time, so you can wait at the hotel until your flight check-in time. If you fly in the evening, it will be possible to request a late check-out to spend more time at the hotel.
