The tour in detail

Welcome to the Pantanal, the largest wetland on the planet, a wild kingdom that extends over 150,000 square kilometers across west-central Brazil, Paraguay and Bolivia. The name “Pantanal” derives from the Portuguese word “pantano”, which vividly evokes the essence of this pristine and mysterious place. A place where nature reigns supreme, and water is the protagonist. UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve: The Pantanal has been recognized for its exceptional environmental and cultural value. This trip is designed for serious enthusiasts. You won't waste precious time returning to the lodge for lunch; instead, you will enjoy a meal on the boat, directly in the most pristine areas of this extraordinary ecosystem. Thus, you will be able to dedicate 10-12 hours a day to jaguar photography, making the most of every moment of perfect light. This trip to the Pantanal is the ideal opportunity for the most demanding photographers. Not only will it give you breathtaking scenery, but it will also offer you incredible sightings that you never imagined you would experience. Coming face to face with the mighty jaguar and countless other animals in their natural habitat will allow you to capture extraordinary photo shots and create magnificent memories that will remain etched in your mind forever.
In August, jaguars in the Pantanal are more easily visible thanks to the dry season, which concentrates them around the few remaining water sources along the riverbanks. Lowering water levels expose prey such as caimans and capybaras, making hunting easier for jaguars and increasing the chances of sightings. During the dry season, jaguars must regularly travel to water sources to drink, making these spots ideal for sightings. Taking photographs from the boat offers unique advantages. The stability of the boat is surprising, with fluid movements that allow the use of a tripod and sharp shots even in variable light conditions. Freedom of movement is extensive, offering an ideal platform to follow your subject unobstructed and a 360-degree view to explore and capture every angle of your surroundings. The shooting point at the water's edge allows for unique perspectives, allowing you to capture reflections, plays of light and movements on the water, adding magic and dynamism to the photographs.
It will be an adventure in the incredible Brazilian wetlands. We will be immersed in an incredible ecosystem where we will perceive wild nature at every moment. We will sleep right in Porto Joffre, a few meters from the river. Every day we just need to look out of the windows of our rooms to admire the Cuiabà river and perhaps observe capybaras, cara cara and other animals already in the lodge garden. The structure will have all the necessary services, air conditioning, wi-fi, a restaurant with typical cuisine and a friendly and super helpful staff.

For this itinerary we recommend a telephoto lens of at least 400mm to photograph the main subjects of this tour. A shorter lens, such as a 70-200mm for wider shots, may also be useful. To shoot from the boat, a monopod or tripod is also recommended.
