Destination

The howl of a pack of wolves, the paws of a brown bear walking on the ice: two of the largest predators you will encounter. At the borders of northern Europe we find infinite expanses of unexplored forests where flora and fauna intertwine in an incredibly varied ecosystem. The forests, mainly conifers, extend for hundreds of kilometers giving refuge to wolves, bears, wolverines, moose, foxes, black grouse, eagles, Lapland owls, Ural owls and hundreds of other species. With 4 sessions in the best huts, we will spend 5 days immersed in the incredible Finnish nature, waiting to spot these animals. During the workshop, we will have access to professional huts equipped with bathrooms, rest beds and slits for our photographic lenses. Furthermore, a complete post-production course and assistance from a professional photographer is provided.

The tour in detail

A photography workshop on the edge of Northern Europe in search of the most important large predators of this continent. We will meet at Kuopio airport where, with a private transfer, we will enter the endless roads that immerse themselves in the Finnish forests until we reach our base camp. Here we will find several completely wooden structures equipped with all the services such as electricity, running water, bedrooms, wi-fi and a chef who will cook for the group. Every day we will have complete and hot meals and the possibility of preparing snacks to take with us during the photographic activities. In addition to this, a few steps from the structure, there will also be a small feeding station where we can observe squirrels, woodpeckers and various species of passerines. But the main activities will be those from the hide, where we will take advantage of the beautiful northern lights to observe and photograph wolves, bears, wolverines and if lucky even white-tailed sea eagles, golden eagles and other animals!
It will be a full immersion of photographic activities, 4 sunsets and 3 sunrises with overnight stay directly inside our exclusive huts so as not to miss even a moment. The photographic activities will begin at around 5.30 PM, when we will enter the huts, set up our equipment and begin our magical wait. The sessions will then continue until 8.00 AM the next morning, giving us the maximum opportunity to sight the most important mammals of Northern Europe. The photographic locations mainly overlook two areas, a large clearing (completely covered in snow in this period) or a forest, in rotation and based on the sightings we will be able to try both locations. During the sessions we will bring with us food, water and a sleeping bag if you want to sleep in the few hours of the night (the huts are equipped with small bathrooms and beds/mattresses to rest). In fact, in this period of the year the sun sets only for a few hours, giving us the opportunity to continue photographing for a very long time.
The huts have been specially designed and built to meet the needs of every nature photographer. Every detail has been carefully considered to ensure a perfect setting, natural settings and impeccable lighting. The huts are comfortable and inside we find space to stand up, lie down and comfortable chairs to shoot. No glass, two slits for each photographer and comfortable beds or mattresses to sleep in the few hours of the night, dry bathrooms for all needs. All the huts are heated for perfect comfort even in the cold. A great advantage of these huts is the freedom of movement they offer you. You can move freely inside the hut, making the wait less tiring. The group will be divided into different huts to optimize space and comfort.
